Fauré’s Requiem- Wednesday 2nd November 2016

I am so thrilled to have been asked to sing the soprano solo for such a beautiful work that is Fauré’s Requiem. I have sung the requiem many times before and always loved it. Fauré really knows how to write beautifully for singers, but somehow, this time around, I am experiencing it in a way where my appreciation for it as a sublime and transcendent work, is even more evident to me. At rehearsal yesterday evening with my friend and colleague Thomas Kehoe, he revealed greater beauty at the end of the “offertorium” simply by giving us a moment to allow the angelic quality of this moment to sing through us.

Beyond words, actually.

The concert takes place in St Laurence’s church, Kilmacud at 8pm this Wednesday the 2nd November.
